WHAT CHARLOTTE WANTS FOR CHRISTMAS

Businesses throughout the county are being offered an opportunity to help a talented young sportswoman achieve her dream - a possible place in the Winter Olympics!

Charlotte Shrimpton of Bridgnorth is just 13 years old but is already being recognised as a skier of outstanding abilities. She had never skied up to three years ago, but has progressed amazingly since then, thanks to the world-class tuition she receives at Telford Ski Race Club.

Coach Alan Ashfield, who has trained Olympic and World Cup contestants, praises Charlotte’s natural ability and dedication to a gruelling training regime.

“With our intensive training and guidance Charlotte is progressing into an exceptional young skier…with the right guidance and support I see no reason why she cannot progress to the highest level of ski racing. Her commitment to her regular weekly training is undoubtedly 110%.”

Charlotte is now competing at National level, and Phil Hinton, Professional at Chesterton Valley Golf Club, is appealing for local businesses to allow her to progress to the next stage of her Olympic dream.

“Charlotte’s parents have been financing her, but this is an expensive sport and sponsorship is now needed if she is to move on,” Phil said. ‘Christmas is coming, and it would be the best gift Charlotte could have if we could generate some support for her. With your help, we can watch her get to that next level.
